Govt restricts use of hand sanitizer produced by five firms

KATHMANDU: The Department of Drug Administration (DAO) today appealed public not to use sanitizer of five different producers in the domestic market citing that they do not meet minimum quality standard.

Issuing a notice today, the department prohibited the production, sales and consumption of Instant Hand Sanitizer produced by Nepal Kayakalpa Udhyog, Instant Hand Sanitizer Original produced by Hygiene Soap and Chemical Limited, Advanced Hand Sanitizer of Adhar Chemicals and Food Industry, Instant Hand Sanitizer Refreshing Gel of Search Chem Cum Herbal Products and Suryamukhi Hand Sanitizer of Suryamukhi Herbal Products

The department stated that these sanitizers do not meet minimum standards set by the government and its use can result to serious health problems.
