Govt directs Valley’s DAOs to facilitate commuting of bank staff

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) today directed district administration office (DAO) of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur not to halt movement of bank staffs.

Citing government’s prohibitory orders, the local administration in the Valley, today, obstructed the mobility of bank staff following which banks had decided to shut their offices across the Kathmandu Valley.

However, the MoHA asked DAO offices in the Valley not to restrict movement of bank staffs as ‘banking’ is an essential service.

Following rise in COVID-19 cases, the government had issued prohibitory order in Valley effective from today restricting ‘unnecessary’ movement of people, vehicular movement and business operation.
