KATHMANDU: Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), the umbrella body representing 27 commercial banks of the country, have decided to shut banks today following obstruction in mobility of bank staffs by the local administration.
Bhuwan Dahal, president of NBA, informed that they were compelled to shut all branches of banks after police barred commuting of bank staffs citing prohibitory orders.
Earlier, the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) had directed banks to ensure banking services to public from limited branches and by adopting effective measures against the coronavirus. Following the same, NBA, on Wednesday, had decided to provide banking services from limited branches of banks throughout the second phase of lockdown which started from today.
