Sushil Bhatta to continue as IBN CEO

KATHMANDU: Sushil Bhatta will continue to serve as the new CEO of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) following the decision of the Patan High Court to scrap its previous interim order against his appointment to the IBN top post.

A double-bench of justices Ishwor Raj Acharya and Thakur Prasad Sharma at the high court today decided to scrap the court’s previous interim order opening doors for Bhatta to lead IBN.

A few days before, a single-bench of Chief Judge of Patan High Court Nahakul Subedi had ordered the government not to execute its decision to appoint Bhatta as the Investment Board’s CEO.

Responding to a writ petition filed by Advocate Jaya Bahadur Bhujel to challenge the appointment, the High Court had issued the short-term interim order staying the appointment of Bhatta.
